I could feel – I could smell –a new kind of intelligence across the table.

Gary Kasparov

If there’s any significant application that has ever attributed to shape the paradigm of IT landscape and determined our future to a greater degree, its Artificial Intelligence, abbreviated as AI. Not just IT technology is transformed by AI but many other industries are rapidly getting penetrated by a new kind of intelligence across the table as mentioned by Gary Kasprov. The world would soon become more digitized and industries would become much smarter. In this hour, IT companies have to find solution that can keep pace with exploding process complexity and accelerating innovations.

AI is the gateway

Sharing of information is something technology has grasped as a means to increase efficacy of any task. Today we are more dependent on technology than ever and shared information has accelerated the process. Information that can be analysed and used to make predictions. Weather forecast to stock price, detecting cancerous cell to solving highly complex genome sequence, self-driven car to re-usable rockets – have only been possible due to the ability of computing technology that is powerful enough. There are two sides of the story. On one hand, relentless demand of application and on the other hand continuous iteration in technological advancement. A system that accommodates user and developer. Ironically the developer themselves are also the users. This is a tricky balancing act: driving innovative initiatives while grappling with the side effects of the traditional infrastructures. But with AI, now it’s possible to find solution much faster and accurately.

What is AI

Artificial Intelligence, abbreviated as AI, is a branch of computer science that creates a system able to perform human-like tasks, such as speech and text recognition, content learning, and problem solving. Using AI-powered technologies, computers can accomplish specific tasks by analysing huge amounts of data and recognising recurrent patterns.

Segments of AI

AI can be divided into different technology segments, such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, image processing, and speech recognition. However, a central role in the IT industry belongs to machine learning and deep learning.

Service desk automation:

Today, with the help of AI with machine learning capabilities, IT companies can have a self-solving service desk, which is capable to analyse all the company input data and, as a result, provide users with proper suggestions and possible solutions. Applying AI, companies are able to track user behaviour, make suggestions, and consequently provide self-help options to make service management more effective. In this case, AI ultimately gives users a better experience through improved self-service.

AI and Banking

In banking sector, AI brings the power of advanced data analytics to refrain fraudulent transactions and improve compliance. AI algorithm can detect anti-money laundering activities in few seconds, which otherwise would take much longer. AI also enables banks to manage huge volumes of data at lightning speed to extract valuable insights. Features such as AI bots, digital payment advisers and biometric fraud detection mechanisms lead to higher quality of services to a wider customer base. All this translates to increased revenue, reduced costs and boost in profits.

AI is not a distant dream, but within our reach and being integrated with and deployed into a variety of sectors. For now, we must seek new opportunities while remaining diligent in how we train AI. New systems will only be as responsible as they’re trained to be. As we continuously seek to develop intelligent AI, we hope that it will ultimately provide society with the tools that make everyday life easier, and the world operate a lot better.
